Where our numbers come from.

Every rate, offer, and benchmark you see on MeterMiser is sourced from public, regulator-published data. We don't collect private pricing from suppliers, and we don't take their word for what they're selling — we read the same disclosures the regulator requires them to file.

Supplier offers (Ohio)

Sourced from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio's Apples-to-Apples comparison site, refreshed daily. We pull the official CSV export for each of Ohio's 10 utility territories — same data customers see on the PUCO site, just stitched together and made searchable.

Price to Compare (PTC) history

Sourced from each utility's historical PTC chart published on puco.ohio.gov. Refreshed weekly. We use this as the regulated benchmark every competitive supplier offer is measured against.

Service territory & ZIP mapping

The map of which electric and gas utility serves a given Ohio ZIP code is built from PUCO's certified-territory definitions and the U.S. Census 2020 ZCTA-to-county relationship file.
